A dissenting opinion formally presented to the board of commissioners by Sheriff Zanni on Tuesday has made headlines in The Sentinel and on this blog but so far there hasn’t been a peep at The World. Considering how much the paper provided for a draft version of the structure committee findings and the support for those findings on the editorial page the paper may have to do some serious sidestepping to explain its earlier position and its lack of coverage now. Maybe the paper is planning a big story complete with interviews from both sides for Saturday’s paper.
One can only hope but the paper never bothered to report on the reaction to claims made by committee members printed in the paper about drug abuse or the fact that employees in certain positions regularly pass tests for drugs as a part of their licensing and certification. Instead the paper has allowed the negative impressions left by thoughtless comments to go uncorrected.
Clark did the same thing with the Port”s blatant lies they told to get their last half a million of your dollars. They just stood there and lied, and good ol Clark, copied every word, how many articles. did Clark print regarding the “emergency”.
After the Port acknowledged it was all a damn lie? Clark didn’t udder a word, they’re all sucklets aren’t they? What do you expect from a Rock Springs Wyoming reject?
The World probably thinks it knows something the rest of us don’t (curious behavior for a newspaper0 and is waiting for the dramatic presentation next Tuesday. The paper’s overlords and scrambling to spiff up their power point presentation as we speak, hoping to counter all dissension with clever animations and artful use of buzz words like “silos” and management and centralization.
PUNTED! Apparently silence is better than acknowledging that your biased tabloid is not a community “news” paper.
Not until Jon B takes his arm out of Clarks’ , well you understand, until Clark is told what to print.
It’s just a damn shame that this paper is allowed to print such biased BS. And get paid for it. I’ve lived in three states, been a news junkie my entire life and I have NEVER seen such a trashy rag passing for a “news”paper. ‘
I hope Lee Enterprises understand why they’re losing their arses, people don’t want to read this kind of crap. As far as I can see there isn’t a professional among them, if I’m wrong my apologies to their silent partner.
Patience – please! You expect too much from the bird cage liner. It’s only been a few days since Sheriff Zanni stood tall and spoke what many of us wanted to say – exposing Charlie Pettit. It’s been a week since an equally interesting story to Coos County residents broke – former Coos County Assessor Adam Colby’s suit againt the county was tossed in the federal courts. More Walworth silence. Such a dilemma. How does Walworth report without damaging his friends Pettit, Barton and Messerle? This may be Walworth’s week for very large print folksy ORC – hi I’m your new neighbor – ads and retread AP stories to fill space. There may be no space for “news” in that alleged “newspaper”.
