During public comment over an item on the Coos County Commission board meeting agenda about the budget, Randy Sanne tried, despite rude interruptions from commissioners Bob Main and Cam Parry, to advise the public about the county investment funds. Sanne was attempting to reassure the public that based on a twelve year history the average annual sum of the county’s savings and investment accounts hasn’t fallen below $37 million and therefore there is a buffer to allow for reasoned and thoughtful consideration of ways to increase revenue without cutting services the taxpayer has already paid for.
Main has previously argued against investing the funds preferring instead to hoard them where they earn next to nothing and warning that using this money will turn prisoners loose from the jail and force the layoff of half our deputies.
As usual, Messerle is mostly silent but neither Main nor Parry were interested in what Sanne, a candidate for commissioner had to say, interrupted frequently and each accused him of campaigning. Finally, even though the topic was about budgets not the CBWR Parry attacked Sanne angrily asking why he can’t just make a “leap of faith” and assimilate into the Borg collective and blindly support the Coquille Tribe proposal or any other scheme this commission believes is “the best way” to fix things. Sanne was rightly stunned because his entire discussion was sharing the relatively positive conditions the county is operating under and therefore the many opportunities available.
The video will speak for itself. Parry’s behavior is, in a word, disgusting, not to mention over the top and wholly inappropriate. Main’s behavior isn’t much better and let there be no mistake, even though they haven’t filed candidate papers yet both of them are using their platform to campaign.
Absolutely, Parry was parrying or deflecting from the subject for fear of being found out to be inadequate for the job
Cam Parry’s response is a mentally closed-door, fear-mongering response. Either the Commission is hiding something or they don’t know what they are doing and are scared to death someone’s going to figure it out!
I’m sorry, but I cannot shake that rage of Cams’ . Violence changes a person forever I suppose. But that frothing, snarling growling behavior goes deep into a victim of violence. Does anyone else have a visceral reaction to that raging he did? It’s take me years to deal with it, this was a setback. Screaming and pounding on things, damn I wish I hadn’t watched that. I’ve never met the man, and I do not intend to do so, so all I know is his public persona. And it ain’t good.
BOB MAIN !!! If you don’t read this blog, you are an even greater threat to the truth. Let me give you a little advice little man, you do NOT laugh out loud as your public speaks before you ! Got it? How dare you audibly laugh at the words of your bosses. THEY pay your damn wage, and you sit back and laugh loudly at what they say.
Bad behavior Bob, someone needs to tell you to stop it and stop it right now.
And Cam? Get yourself into some serious anger management classes, asap.
You have a major problem with that. Trust me, I’ve seen and heard it from the front row, once you have, you know it when you see it.
Shameful behavior for the man on the street, more so for paid employees.
Remember taxpayers, Bob Main appointed Fred and Cam, this is HIS baby.
They have been caught with their pants down. They don’t have a complete grasp of the budget, there is no data to backup their gushing and single minded march to privatize the CBWR and people are not genuflecting while they pontificate and sell, sell, sell their conservative agenda.
Main has taken to abusing people during citizen comments, Sanne and I aren’t the only victims. Anyone who isnt’ part of the hive mind speaks out at public meetings at their own peril

In my world, that is one frightening display. Totally uncalled for. Screaming at the public to just do it MY way, MY way, no other way, MY way . What is with this guy? I thought he postured as the great mediator didn’t he? What gives?
