The trial of United States vs Oath Keepers is well underway and seeks to convict militia leader Stewart Rhodes and four of his militia members of seditious conspiracy for their role in the planning and execution of the January 6th attack on the US Capitol. The prosecution has rested after nineteen days where it “…meticulously documented the group’s actions both leading up to, during and after the assault on the Capitol, using seized texts messages, audio files and surveillance videos to trace their steps and communications…”

Amongst the information that has emerged from the trial is that the Oath Keepers made two advance trips to DC. One in November and another in December allegedly to coordinate a weapons stockpile and provide for a Quick Reaction Force rally point at an area hotel.

As reported in The Oregonian, insurrectionist Rod Taylor admits to making two trips to DC in the eight weeks prior to the attack. It’s not known if his trips corresponded with the Oath Keeper visits but it’s unlikely he crossed the continent twice just to take selfies in front of the Lincoln Memorial.

In the following email exchange, Taylor does not deny meeting in DC to discuss plans for January 6. Instead of answering he claims I can’t handle “truth”, this from an election denier!

Me:

Good morning,

During your two trips to DC prior to January 6 as reported in The Oregonian, which members of the Oath Keepers did you reconnoiter with? Did you also meet with the Proud Boys and specifically who did you meet with? Were you considered part of the Oath Keepers quick reaction force?

Thank you,
Mary Geddry

Taylor:

Your misinformed questions betray the fact that you are an unreliable witness, therefore, I decline to answer. You cannot be trusted with truth.

If you would like to have a one hour, face-to-face sit down interview on camera, I will be happy to accommodate that sometime after November 8.

All of God’s rewards on you,

Rod Taylor

Me:

Actually, my questions are very well informed and your response is NOT a denial.

Taylor:

“Do not answer a fool according to his folly, or you will also be like him.” Proverbs 26:4

You go ahead and run with your assumptions, Mary. We’ll see where that gets you and your 6 website viewers.

My interview offer stands.

Just like Taylor can’t answer simple questions about county funding he cannot or will not explain what he was doing in DC in advance of his participation in the insurrection. True crime watchers will recognize how often criminals under interrogation will deflect from the question to avoid incriminating themselves. In Taylor’s case he falls back to gobbledygook about truth and finally turns to the Bible for refuge.
One thing is very clear, Taylor thinks of himself as a mini-Trump.  Unable to debate on the real nuts and bolts of running the county he wants to make Coos County “great again”, except he just can’t explain how he’s going to do it.

Throughout his campaign he has made no mention of his effort to obstruct the election and keep loser Donald Trump in office anywhere in his official literature. As we near the end of the election and lacking anything else of substance he appears to be getting desperate and is doubling down on his allegiance to Trump. Reacting to a targeted flyer produced by the Coos County Democratic Central Committee he claimed to be happy it tied him to Trump since the latter won the county with 58% of the vote. The county commission is a nonpartisan position.

In another sign of desperation, his campaign is offering $25 to anyone willing to post a selfie with defaced Melissa Cribbins signs. Not only unethical it’s probably illegal and the Oregon Secretary of State has been notified.

To be blunt, Taylor is a very low caliber individual not fit to hold office.

18 USC §2384. Seditious conspiracy
