Hired in February 2021 by the City of Coquille as finance director, Rick Hohnbaum apparently didn’t really want the job because he was on the hunt for new employment almost immediately.We wrote about Hohnbaum’s checkered past here in May and by June he was being considered for city manager of Sheridan in Yamhill County.
Coquille wasn’t Hohnbaum’s first choice as he was vying hard for an opening in Bandon. As reported here in May, Hohnbaum brought with him a lot of baggage and unlike the Coquille City Council, some members of Bandon’s council took the time to do a Google search and he was rejected.
Sheridan ultimately rejected Hohnbaum as well but reports indicate he is leaving Coquille.
