The county compensation committee met last month and approved a 2.2% raise increase for all elected officials. The commission will discuss it at this morning’s regular meeting.

The feds believe that the less fortunate old folks of the area, and there are many, who employ and pay these elected officials, deserve a 1.5% social security increase. Here in the boonies, where the cost of living is significantly less than the national average, how and why did we arrive at 2.2%?
