Now we know who we have to work with on the county commission beginning next January. While some of us may have envisioned a board with a different makeup it is in everyone’s best interest to help this board and the individual commissioners be successful at their new jobs. The public will know very quickly if the new board. Bob Main, John Sweet and Melissa Cribbins are competent and focused upon providing the best public services they can or if one or more of them are catering to special interests. Until they provide reason to worry lets give them the benefit of the doubt and do everything we can to help them each shine as a commissioners.
Well, Oregon Resources Corp (ORC) that contributed money to a Special Interest Group (SIG) or Political Active Group (PAC) got 2 out of 3 and that means they own two commissioner’s that owe the ORC and friends of ORC! I don’t feel this situation is wrong or bad, just a warning to the voting public that Trust but Verify should be the Law of The Land for at least 2 yrs. As you well know that with 2 in lockstep with whomever makes the 3rd Commissioner, Persona Non Gratis or irrelevant, as shown on the ”material rights” under Coos County Surface Land! Mr. Main, objected to the language of the Contract with ORC! While, I don’t agree with Mr Main the Board Actions demonstrates “Group Think” how the group majority can and does ‘ramrod’ their agenda on to the minority!! As a ‘Beneficiary of Group Think’ during at the last primary I was not on the Nov Ballot, but ran a ‘write in’ candidate for Coos County Commissioner, to which I want to give a big ‘Thank You’ to the people who voted for me and my platform; “We Can Do More, With What We Have” and I know we can! Just because the Commissioner’s position is ‘non-partisan’ the primaries are not! All the candidates were backed by a Party ! Ask them for their Party Card! As a true Non-partisan I owe no obligation to any party but to all of “We The People”,! I will continue to promote my platform, without the ‘bully pulpit’ of the Commissioner’s office, I just get them to do the ‘heavy’ lifting of setting policies that will make Coos County non-partisan of all Laws that restricts the County from utilizing all its resources to better our way of life! These are my opinion and I’m stickin’ to it! Geno Landrum, CCC for seat #4/5!
I had no idea that you were a write in candidate. Too bad, I would have given you my vote.
How about the recent daily garbage can liner quotes from Sweet and Cribbins who supported Messerle and did all to help him win telling us how eager they are to be working with Main? Did anyone get a thrill similar to the one down Chris Matthews leg when reading that crap?
You will get no argument from me that both, particularly Cribbins, sounded like anti-government de-regulators who believe business will solve all ills no matter who it steps on, but let’s give them a chance.
Agreed.
Of course I remember hearing Sean Hannity say after the 2008 election that he hoped the new president would succeed.
Sean Hannity & Mary G?
Mark, let not your heart be troubled…
Thank you, Pig!
Mark need not question my sincerity.
