A local PAC(K) of anti-renewable energy, pro fossil fuel and unsustainable nineteenth century extraction industry advocates, inaptly known as the CCAP (Coos County Alliance for Progress) has launched CoosCountyAdministrator.com.. The PAC, which now has a spiffy little logo, has recorded $1,702 in sign and banner costs divided equally in favor of a proposed governance ordinance and opposed to a home rule charter. The domain is registered to a local FM radio station referred to as K-DOCK.

Is anyone familiar with FCC licensing rules with respect to involvement in non-partisan measures?
You are welcome in advance, Al, for the free publicity
UPDATE Mikel Chavez is the registered legal owner of fredmesserle.com and melissacribbins.com. There is nothing really wrong with this if the clients are comfortable with the arrangement but when I built websites and acquired domain names for clients I always made sure the client had legal control of their domain because transferring title is not a piece of cake.
Dear Mr. Mikel Chavez Web Developer, or as you are known elsewhere Mike The Bear Chavez. Thanks for your input. A question. Nice to see that a lowly paid local web developer has so much to contribute to the campaigns of Messerle and Cribbins. What personal services have you provided for the $500 each that you (not KDCQ) received from candidates Messerle and Cribbins? What were the $400 of in kind services for Cribbins also? Thanks for clearing up that confusion also.
Hey there “Autumn Rose” or “SuzyQ”, there may be a few readers that look at more than one page.
So now there is another BP oil spill but of course NBC left out that it is ‘BP’. The worst yet in the Gulf Coast. It is a sham and a shame that so much money is poured into new websites and commercials for killing the planet.
What the hell? Are Coos County residents smart enough to follow the money and ask the right questions?
I attended the ARRRG Charter meeting at the Red LIon Hotel last night and that is the best chance the people of this community have in righting all the wrongs with government. We can’t change the state or national politics but are we smart enough to know a good opportunity when it arises? Yes, it means a lot more involvement and research and sharing of real facts. It means taking our civil rights seriously. ARE you ready for a more direct democracy? To vote possibly, four times a year?
Well, it is the 21st century and if you are working you are aware that that life long learning is a part of any career today. And if you understand anything about Global Climate Change, it is that each and every one of us will have to be a part of cleaning up ‘Big Business’s Big Mess’. Let’s start now, let’s start here. Vote for the Voice of the Voters! That’s what I say.
The gulf disaster will be with us for generations to come and yet they have approved more offshore drilling.
The charter is much more in depth and far better thought out than the proposed ordinance but it doesn’t have to be one or the other. Three competent commissioners willing to trust their department heads to do their job will also be a great outcome in November. Unfortunately, it may be two years before we can fill all three spots with the right people
Hello, just to clear up some confusion, it is part of our business. We register, host and develop websites for any client who wants to pay for the service.
We have several business relationships regardless of their political positions.
Bruce Latta owns KDCQ FM. Larry McCabe owns the building we lease.
Sincerely,
Mikel Chavez
K-DOCK Web Developer
You must admit, it is odd for the web developer to also own and control the domain. The CCAP have no legal control over their own domain name with KDCQ as the registered owner.
Isn’t it long time Allstate Insurance salesman now Hawaii resident and friend of Barton Larry McCabe who owns KDCQ? I know that he owns the building.
So the GM for KDCQ is shilling for this incestuous band of thieves? Damn, looks like I’m going to have to succumb to satellite radio.
Nobody ever tried to convince us that Barton communicates in the English language. Three subscribers in 10 days. Looks like a lack of interest. The PO Box is Bartons. Although Barton and Petit argue that there will be no staff required, it’s just the $200K salary for an administrator, the first few words read that the adminsitrator will bring “key staff to form a management team from experienced staff”. Whatever that means in Bartonese.
The Coos County Administrator page is interesting. It promises “facts”. However, it provides three “reasons” that are simply assumption and hyperbole.
The big “FACT” is the present Coos County Commissioners have both the authority and the responsibility to resolve these and any other operational issues.
Perhaps, instead of promoting an additional administrative position and cost, they should do a little investigation of their own and fix the troubles. I’m sure County department heads have the ability to speak to the Commissioners when asked.
