Fred Messerle’s answers to questions posed at a chamber of commerce sponsored forum last week are so vague and jumbled as to be almost indecipherable. If anyone speaks “Fred” please provide a translation to the video snippet above.
Meanwhile, the brainiacs in the rat PAC, also known as CCAP, just blew several hundred dollars on signs supporting ballot ordinance 1-144 and opposing 1-143 neither of which exist. The correct numbers are 6-143 and 6-144, but hey, why sweat the small stuff.
Al, thanks. We should follow the lead of mismanaged and near bankrupt California. Please, who are the “more and more” Oregon counties that have gone to an adminisitrator concept during the past year? I failed to identify them. Also, how did the change benefit those specific counties and their citizen taxpayers. We’ll ask the county leaders to confirm your findings. Also, will you please help us country folks who are not as educated as you in worldly matters with Messerle’s statement that the administrator will cost the taxpayers 1% of 50 million, or $500,000 annually. Did he mispeak the CCAP party line or have we understood correctly forever. Thanks.
Themguys – I suggest that you refrain from participating from any discussion involving business, economics, balance sheets, income statements or anything even remotely related to business, management or operations.
Stick with latex, spankings and pigs. You seem to have more experience with these topics than the rest of us.
And anyone who can’t tell the difference between a 1 and a 6 should keep their nose out of county government
Susan – that “silly ass county government concept” is being accepted by more and more counties in Oregon and has already been established in all but 3 California counties. On what grounds do you conclude that such a model is “silly”? And you should be informed that CEOs are not reserved for Fortune 500 companies. Unless you’re a company of one, someone is always in charge – unless we’re talking about government. You claim that we can’t afford an administrator only months after we lost a $7 million dollar taxpayer investment. How silly is that? You claim we can’t afford an administrator while half a million to a million dollars of uncollected property tax sits in boxes, waiting for some part-time help to go collect it. How silly is that? The county has over 400 computers for slightly over 300 employees. How silly is that? The fact is: the County can’t afford to NOT have someone in charge. Money always hides a lot of warts, but now that the County is short on money the county has no clothes, so-to-speak. And the problems will only become more apparent, come in greater volume and with greater frequency as the money tightens.
The county is bleeding money through deferred maintenance, lost investments (Solid Waste) and lack of planning, yet many folks are claiming that the county can’t afford an Administrator. I fail to see any logic in that argument.
You just spent $1,700 on signs with the wrong ballot numbers on them and still put them up all over town. Why would we listen to you?
al, you’re “professional” people couldn’t even print accurate signs, didn’t even know the number of the issues, and you think we don ‘t notice? You guys are so incompetent you can’t even print signs properly. And you want them to take control of the budget of this county? What a farce you have become al, this isn’t even fun any longer. You have not produced one shred of evidence to back up any of your claims.
And Solid Waste? That was a mob take down and you know it. This didn’t happen by accident, promises were made long ago to Waste Management, and you ‘boys’ handed it to them. The burn ban dove-tailed nicely didn’t it? That brings more waste for WM, and you played the voters like a cheap violin. al, we can’t fight all of your fingers in our pockets, but voters finally have some truthiness coming their way, and they aren’t going to listen to your bullshit any longer.
What three counties in California al? Please post them.
It’s obvious in Coos County, any Messerlie will find at least ONE public teat, most of them found more. They will squeal and fight for that Mama’s Milk aka tax funds paid by other people. But don’t forget, it’s Sause and Knutson who control the barnyard known as Coos County, in my humble opinion. These people like Fred are just Fredo s to the Don. In my opinion Fred isn’t capable any longer, if he ever was, he can’t even remember his next line, if you have to memorize the answers, and fail even to remember what you’re told to say? You need to go feed your cows and shut the hell up about wanting a job you tell us you aren’t qualified for, well Fred guess what? WE F’N KNOW YOU AREN’T QUALIFIED FOR THE JOB. You’re buying a job, remember?
PS. Fred? Remember who “drove this county over the cliff?” It was YOU GUYS, and now you want the keys to the car, again? Sorry Fred. you are too old to drive this car ever again.
OK, here’s what Messy said. First, Cribbins should share some of that hair with the men of the county who are follically challenged.
Messy said, it’s a $50 million county budget – again. After two years he should know its a $111 million budget.
Messy said in words that could not be more clear that the administrator will cost the taxpayers 1% of that 50 million – that’s $500,000 annually – exactly what we have been saying since Barton, Pettit, Slater, Messrele, Grile, et al brought this silly ass county government concept to us. We are not a Fortune 500 company. We do not have the fiscal resources to afford an administrator. We dont need an administrator. Messy needs an administrator to do his job so he can run the family business while receiving full pay as commissioner.
No habla Messerle. Do not for a second believe that these chamber forums moderated by dream team friend and desperate for a job, any job, World newspaper employee Novotny does not favor the dream team. You Robinson fans, about half the local voters, should be furious at the DeFazio front page World paper support yesterday. Where is their comparable reporting about the slimy PAC spending of CCAP? And, speaking of signs, have you seen the super large sign on 101 north near Lakeside that reads Messerle for Commission, not Commissioner. There is a difference.
