The CCAP (Coos County Alliance for Progress) is behind the signs promoting the governance ordinance change as well as the signs opposing the charter initiative, according to OreStar. The PAC has also receipted another $800 bringing its total contributions to $27,275 and more than $11,266 left to spend on the elections. The PAC has already invested heavily in the commissioners race donating $7,500 to Fred Messerle, $1,500 to John Sweet, $1,000 to Melissa Cribbins and $250 to Tim Bishop. In June, after a $10,000 donation from Sause Bros, the PAC gave $5,000 to Bruce Starr, a Hillsboro state senator who carried the controversial towboat bill to the senate that benefitted Knutson Towboat Company. John Knutson is one of the PAC founders.
