Last year, Sequoia Iris Rodrigues passed away from complications relating to sepsis. She was just four days old. A year later, the district attorney has brought manslaughter charges against Marcene Rebeck, the midwife who delivered her.

UPDATE Sixty seven supporters, including children delivered by Marcene Rebeck had gathered as the midwife attended her arraignment on manslaughter/negligent homicide charges.
Doesn’t the DA have enough on his hands lately with a couple of murders and pot busts to take up his time? Sounded to me like the mother was not really interested in pressing charges, so why push this?
