If the commissioners follow through on their plan to hold a public meeting on the ordinance for an administrator and five commissioners at The Mill Casino, which is a foreign nation, they (the commissioners) have no shame.

I mean no disrespect for the tribe, but this is a business that sells gambling and alcohol that contributes to a lot of social problems. A lot of our people in this area will not go into the casino. This means that some people will be left out because of their beliefs and not wanting to be in that type of an environment.

I believe this to be a political move. This will be mostly for the business people that have their luncheon on this day. I consider this to be a special interest group. The Coos County Alliance for Progress and the tribe have contributed a large sum to the BOC chairman and Mr. Sweet and Mrs. Cribbins.

Maybe the average citizen should view this bunch of business people and then decide if they might want to do business elsewhere.
The BOC has no right to hold a public hearing at 1:30 p.m. (Wednesday, August 1”) in a foreign nation when the working 9-5 people cannot attend.
