As usual there is no explanation with the list invoices that would give the public any idea what bill is actually being paid and for what but the Port of Coos Bay did specify this month two items as being credit card debt.
June 30, 2011 (Credit Card) $ 12,553.44
June 27, 2011 (Credit Card) 9,805.52
We can only guess, of course, but would these charges totaling more than $22,000 be associated with the recent trips taken by CEO Jeff Bishop and Commissioner Caddy McKeown to Bremerhaven, Germany?
Sorry, forgot these Commissioners are APPOINTED not elected any more by the Governor. Whar was Ted thinking? I hope our current Governor will look into this type of inappropriate expense.
Are you kidding me? That is outrageous? Remember the previous Airport Manager who was going to DC and staying in a $2,000.00+ plus suite per night at the infamous Watergate? I’ve been to DC and that is WAY out of line for any staff or Port Commissioner on our public dollars. What is the meaning of this! Maybe Caddy needs to be recalled! if that was indeed what it was used for. This woman wanted to be a County Commissioner. I don’t think we can afford her price tag. Nice work if you can get it!
Things are so out of control in this county. I had great hopes that having new commissioners things would change. I’m really disappointed in the new commissioners, and the Port. I was so hoping things would change for the good. Because of how things were, that is the main reason I retired. I just saw no end to the screwing of tax payers and this County. I’m really upset how things are being handled. Sorry, just venting.
We are all sorry. So many of us worked really hard to bring some change to the BOC and Main just blew it for everyone. As for the Port you should see Bishop tout how great it is to be shipping raw logs to Asia. Those are jobs they are shipping out of here and he thinks it is great
