Nothing can be more devastating than the loss of a child. This weekend two wonderful people, Bethany and Arkus of Bandon, lost their newborn daughter. Please help send healing love and light to her grieving parents. May peace be upon them.

As many of you know, Bethany and Arkus were blessed with a beautiful little daughter, Sequoia Iris, last week on Tuesday, June 14. She captured our hearts immediately. On Friday, Sequoia fell ill and was taken to the Bay area hospital ER where her condition quickly declined. She was transferred to Sacred Heart neonatal intensive care unit in Springfield where she was diagnosed with septicemia, an infection in the blood that the doctor said randomly occurs in one in a thousand babies for no known reason. In spite of the excellent care and the thousands of prayers of light and love sent to her, Sequoia succumbed to her septicemia last night at 7:20 p.m, June 18th. She died in her mother’s arms, surrounded by her family. We are so grateful for all of the support and prayers that we have received over the past few days. We are all completely devastated and ask that you continue your prayers for us as we heal, especially for Sequoia’s parents, Bethany and Arkus. There are no words that can adequately describe the level of loss that we feel. But in spite of the pain:

“We would rather have had one breath of her hair..
one kiss of her mouth..
one touch of her hand..
than an eternity without it..”

A memorial service is being planned for little Sequoia Iris Rodrigues.

Much love and gratitude,

Linda, Bethany & Arkus, SaraJo, Sol, & Cuyen
