HB 2700, the so called LNG fast track bill has passed the Oregon Senate 20-9
No votes were: Senators Johnson, Bates, Bonamici, Dingfelder, Prozanski,
Ferrioli, Atkinson, Girod and Whitsett.
Local Senators Verger and Kruse voted in favor of trodding on private property rights in favor of big business.
Pipeline companies can now obtain permits from the State of Oregon to fill wetlands and cross streams on private property without permission from the landowner.
What has happened to our rights. Seems like the Govt. is slowly taking them from us.I read the World Paper today on this article.Could be someone will do a Mel Gibson Patriot on them. The Govt. is out of control, totally.
@Colandrio hopefully, if the new bill does intrude on the Oregon constitution it would rightly be overturned if challenged. Presumably, a proper legislative process would check for that but we do know mistakes are made.
Thank you for contacting Kitzhaber and we must encourage everyone to do the same.
Please say if I am wrong, but doesn’t the Oregon Constitution have a very strong private property clause, and won’t this legislation be overturned if contested? Also, I have called Governor Kitzhaber to ask him to reject this bill and encourdage others to do the same.
Will the Democratic party in Coos County now run a real Democrat instead of Arnie Roblan who just showed his true colors?
I certainly hope so.
Aye aye, Pirate, doing the will of the State and their corporate overlords
Guess I’m no longer an “owner” of land in the State of Oregon. I am now just another lease holder/renter that must do the will of the State.
