In preparation for a long single track mountain bike ride next month I have enjoyed some fast, hard bike rides on some of the back roads of Coos County of late. It is easy to take off in the morning and meander through the hills and dales for hours on end until you just can’t peddle any more but see some of the most beautiful country, parks, farms, and open scenery anywhere. There is a certain zen quality about solitary bike rides and it helps one forget about the local politics, the local economy and the odd collection of crazies that live around here.
