Kelly Dougherty, Executive Director of Iraq Vets Against the War

I first met Kelly in Seattle. a year ago August, at the Veterans for Peace National Convention. She is such a wonderful young woman and a leading force in the peace movement. I have many friends belonging to IVAW and you have never met more patriotic and courageous young people. Watch this video

When my oldest son, a Marine, left for war and crossed the border from Kuwait into Iraq in March 2003 I started writing my conscience. After two tours that young combat veteran’s mother is now an ardent peace activist and advocate for social, environmental and economic justice.
