No one did an actual headcount but I would estimate that 80% of the 100 chairs were occupied as the inaugural forum sponsored by and for the working class citizens of Coos County got underway. It was sad, however, to see how few North County residents made the trip to Coquille. Chelsea Davis from The World live tweeted the event and you can read her synopsis here. The biggest split between Gurney and Sweet revolves around handling federal timber revenue and the tax reapportionment and privatization of public funds through the Community Enhancement Plan, which I will detail in a separate post.
