dohLast week The World reported that the county had forced an employee in the Coos County Assessors office to retire early. Before the start of today’s BOC meeting county counsel Josh Soper and commissioner Bob Main advised the audience that the employee in question approached the county and requested early retirement if the county could also carry health insurance through December of next year. It was determined there would be a savings to the county and a mutual agreement was reached. “No one was forced into retirement”, said Main. “The paper got it wrong.”
