It is amazing what passes as news in Coos County. According to viewers, KCBY had a “big announcement” last night, April 25, that the Jordan Cove Energy Project was one step closer to reality thanks to a resolution adopted by the Bay Area Chamber of Commerce fifteen member Board of Directors, (which includes Commissioner Melissa Cribbins), supporting the industrial development three weeks earlier. Not exactly breaking news but as we predicted this is all part of the psyops plan orchestrated through BS Oregon (Boost Southwest Oregon) which has amassed a list of seven groups or organizations supporting Jordan Cove and these will be trotted out by the media and presented as news*. (Let’s see if The World follows suit shortly).
If you visit the BS site you are enthusiastically invited to become a “Southwest Oregon Booster” or SOB for short. One of the jewels BS is hoping to acquire is an endorsement from the local Coos County Democrats and BS claims these endorsements are necessary to demonstrate to the US DOE there is community support.
“Whether or not Jordan Cove receives a DOE export license will depend in part on the level of local support for the project,” wrote BS director, Ray Bucheger in an email to potential SOB’s. This morning I sent an email to the Dept of Energy asking if the comment period for submitting testimony is still open or if they plan to reopen it for additional testimony and am awaiting a reply. If the answer is ‘no” to both questions then there must be some other reason to accumulate these endorsements that may involve capital fundraising and investor confidence or procurement contract negotiations. Could it be the BS psyops is being used on the average working class citizen AND on gas suppliers and institutional investors as well? Is BS bs’ing its shareholders too?
Could it also be that Jordan Cove plans on filing additional applications in the immediate future?
*There are factual errors in KCBY’s reporting, last night, such as the estimated size and cost of the project which are being followed up on and will be updated here ASAP.
Ahhh, it’s all about those appointments. No one is elected by the people. Just more of the same. Jon B loves control of his sandbox.
I haven’t noticed a Bennetti’s for airport board sign but I did however kick down a Barton sign & did poodle scoots all over it. It seem to be missing something so I made sure I was scooting “Figs” first on Barton.
I don’t think you are being quite fair when it comes to the Port. Some people are doing quite well thanks to the Port. Dave Kroenstenner Port President appointed by the governor, for example, landed a sweetheart no bid contract, multi million dollar deal, awarded by… Drum roll please… The governor! Thanks to the Port.
So not everyone is being done wrong by our Port.
From the airport, Sause is getting next to free rent for his FBO service at the airport. That has to be worth something to the people of Coos County…
You are absolutely correct Pignuts, I drove up to Lincoln City in December, hadn’t been up there in ten years, and I was absolutely shocked. If I’d invested in a home up North, I wouldn’t have lost my arse when I sold last year. Every damn one of those little places has opened up for tourists, little coffee shops and gift shops etc. Very cheerful and welcoming for a person traveling. Then you come back. Now I will admit, North Bend has cleaned up the city greatly, it looks wonderful, and the “oldness” of it is the only thing they got, but they
re at least trying !!
Coos Bay? How about Bennetti’s ???? Cause that’s all you see, and you miss that going South.
It’s embarassing, but hey Pig, we got videos and ruby slippers and lots of promises, for forty damned years. Same faces, same promises. It has to stop. If one of them can come on here and tell us what We The People have gotten from their “work”, I’m all ears. When does the Port pay back, and the airport make some money, and when will our waterfronts be geared to draw in those looking for a place to re-locate??
You’ll notice Bennetti is running for airport board. He’s there to insure the flood of OUR money. WE need to shutter that rusting rat trap until the economy picks up. How much do we pay to run the escalators alone all day long.
ONE FLIGHT PER DAY FOLKS, ONE IN AND ONE OUT.
It’s good to be back to Coos County. Spent a few days in Newport, Lincoln City, Depoe Bay, Yachats & even Florence. You just don’t appreciate what a SHIT HOLE Coos County is until you spend a little time in our coastal cities to the north!
It is interesting that Deborah Boone who represents the North Coast where another LNG terminal project is proposed would be listed on the BS site. Perhaps she is confused as to which LNG project she is supporting.
Oregon LNG which is being proposed in Boone’s district has the support of the Trade Unions and there was very little public comments showing opposition to that project that were filed during the U.S. Dept of Energy open public comment period that ended last November (FE Docket No 12-77-LNG).
On the other hand, thousands of citizens in Southern Oregon have signed a petition against the Jordan Cove LNG project.
This of course explains why the need for them to bring in a big time Washington D.C. BS’r.
They are desperate.
Wim, you are listed as a community supporter of the Jordan Cove project at the BS web site. I noticed a huge sign today for Jon Barton campaign for airport commissioner. Any competition?
Actually, I signed up with BS Oregon a couple of weeks ago but never got a confirmation nor any breathless progress emails. I think that qualifies BS Oregon as a very one-sided lobby. They’re not too much into honoring diversity of opinion . . .
Don’t forget, Novotney works for Clark Wallworth now, this area can’t even support a local TV station, and he switched, no doubt he’s helping Clark and his buddies.
It would indeed be very beneficial to have it appear that the democratic party is all on board with this plan to exploit the port and all the associated funding that they have been getting all these years for the purpose of setting up LNG. If they can get that feather then they will accomplish two things at once.
1. They will be giving political cover for the democrats that have been working on this plan all along.
2. They will give the perception that the chamber is not filled with a bunch of right wing nuts that will sell their grandma for a buck.
None of them are counting on this whole thing biting them in the ass when the public sees that these people are in it just for the money and none of them can be trusted to make any decisions about whats right for this area. When they are willing to destroy the environment for profit and implicate the rest of us with this abuse of eminent domain laws. This thievery is OK with all the supporters of LNG and we should never let them off the hook for that alone. If you support thievery then you are just as guilty as the thief yourself.
