The dual role of publisher and editor has always felt like a recipe for conflicting interests and now Lee Enterprises, owner of The World newspaper has stripped Clark Walworth of his publishing duties as soon as a replacement can be found. According to the paper, the publisher is in charge of the daily operations of the print and online editions as well as advertising sales and its the latter that may influence editorial decisions. Walworth will continue on as editor and now that these functions have been separated perhaps the paper will begin to offer content that appeals to a broader range of readers. We can hope!
The World must be a fan of PigNuts…
After pointing out that they had a wide & loose gap, they increased their border to try & rejuvenate their content leaking crack. (at the top of the page)
Pssst… You can still read the articles by taking a screen shot of the page before it loads the subscription page! He He He…
When in the business of selling online advertising I can’t think WaddWorth is doing his corporation good by going to pay to play format. Pssst…. You can still read the articles by scrolling the content while taking a sneaky peeky of the gap up top!

I would have sworn I remember someone saying that there was practically a firewall between the two duties at The World to keep it honest. Oops.
I’m not sure why everyone feels Novotny has such credentials. I don’t see it. He read the news on TV. His stories since moving to the paper are not well investigated, written or comprehensive. About the same choices I saw in our last election.
Sigh, all too true
Colandrio – add the word facts to your posting. Wally apparently has never met one that can’t be ignored.
Somehow I doubt if this will clean up the spelling, punctuation, and grammar errors.
That might be a bit much to ask for
Will theworld continue to pay dues to SCDC ? This should be a good test of that groups power over the local press.
I’m thinking the ensuing fallout from the Knutson/Sause shenanigans may cause even The World to step with caution to avoid association with the dirty rat PAC(K)
Praise Allah! Maybe Novotny will replace him as Editor when Novotny learns what a newspaper is supposed to be.
