MGx, for the volunteer effort that it is, has seen some remarkable growth this last year or so. More readers than ever read the blog and consequently, more and more talented writers have seen fit to contribute and all this is exciting and wonderful but it has caused the occasional hiccup when too many readers are on the blog simultaneously. Some of you may have noticed that the site is inaccessible from time to time and I want to assure you that the problem is only temporary and so please try again in a few minutes. Frustrating yes, but it is a sign that more and more people are interested in local politics.

The next level of hosting upgrade is roughly three times the current annual cost and there still aren’t quite enough readers to justify this jump. We are getting close though, so encourage your friends and neighbors to visit MGx and perhaps within the next month or so, we can add some more writers and upgrade the server for more enjoyable reading for everyone.

Lastly, MGx has focused attention on the Port of Coos Bay because it manipulates millions upon millions of dollars that impact local lives. Additionally, the county has been of major interest again because decisions made by the board affect so many of us but many people have begged me to write more about the various city councils and hospital boards. Alas, there is only so much one blogger can do but I will welcome honest writers with a keen eye for detail and an ear for the nuance of local politics to cover some of these other venues.

Thank you for your patience,

Mary
