County staff will be making another field trip at the taxpayers’ expense to conduct county business tomorrow as the commissioners take their road show to Lakeside. The meeting will begin at 9:30 AM at the city hall at 915 North Lake Road. Here we go again! Messerle will bring forward a proposal from the National Policy Consensus Center (NPCC) “…to assist the Board of Commissioners, and internal stakeholders, in carefully selecting a “Strategic Planning Process” that fits Coos County government”. The NPCC offers to “..assist Board members in evaluating whether a ‘direct”, “visioning” or ‘goals and objectives” approach to strategic planning would be a better fit for Coos County” and they offer to help find someone to lead the strategic planning process.
NPCC will also review the duties of the treasurer and compare Coos County to other counties. Perhaps Messerle will just send them the structure and governance advisory committee reports…
The June 18, 2012 Cole invoice from the planning department is still outstanding and does not appear on this week’s consent calendar.

Fred will buy what he wants now, just like he did with his professional opinion on Solid Waste.
Who pays, gets to play. Never doubt it.
Who can argue with an educated patsy?
I understand that Messerle, with concurrance of Parry, will be contracting with some know nothing Portland professor for $80,000 to do the same effort as done by the structure and governance committees for free. Is this what you discuss above? But, the scope of work under the contract is not to begin until 1/2013. What’s Messy up to this time?
