What everyone has been waiting for… the structure advisory committee report is out (in draft form)
This committee was formed with a clear bias toward organizational streamlining and cost reduction. In this quest the committee has examined what services the County is mandated by state law to provide. It has taken a written survey of employees that allowed anonymity, if the respondent preferred, with a more than 20% response, much greater than anticipated.
The mission of the Structure Committee is to assess the County’s current organizational structure and determine if the current structure is operationally adequate to meet today’s financial challenges. And, if not, identify potential cost savings that might be obtained through the existing structure or an alternative structure.

UPDATE: Lest you doubt there is a concerted move afoot to move the county toward home rule and a hired executive and to do this with as little input from the public as possible read the agenda for a joint meeting of the governance and structure committees December 7, 6 PM at North Bend City Council chambers. Out of two hours the public is allowed ten minutes to comment.
Yes, the report offers no solutions, of course, especially not one that might raise taxes for the same people that aren’t paying their fair share now. Instead they just want to make it smaller and smaller but I bet my tax bill will not see any savings

These guys are Koch-Heads all the way, and they need to admit it publicly. What sneaky dogs, huh? Not one of them has the balls to tell We The People what they are REALLY doing, not one of them. What wankers.
Wow, the committee has written an impressive six or seven sentences for each department, I mean they must have really taxed their internal reserves to put out this much info.

Hmmmmm, The Great Governance Committee meeting is on Pearl Harbor Day. The day we, the US, got hit at Pearl Harbor. Wonder if that is significant?
