It is no secret that some members of the structure advisory committee and at least two of three commissioners favor closing the solid waste department and today’s structure committee meeting began treading well into the domain of the solid waste advisory committee. The structure committee board liaison is Commissioner Fred Messerle and Commissioner Cam Parry is the liaison to both Solid Waste and its namesake advisory group.

According to witnesses to today’s meeting structure advisory group members Al Pettit and Jon Barton seem eager to shut it down or privatize it while the solid waste advisory group has come to no such conclusions both committees appear to be operating from completely different fact sheets. The video will be available in a couple of days and I will provide a more detailed update at that time. For now, visit Randy Sanne’s “Our County” site for information on the profitable solid waste department.

Pettit and Barton are regularly insinuating themselves and their badly conceived anti-government agenda into county government so it is not surprising they would bulldoze over another advisory group’s territory laden with fragmented information.
