Randy Sanne threw his hat into the ring this morning to challenge Coos County Commissioner Bob Main in next year’s primary. Because of the deaths of Andy Jackson and Nikki Whitty this year, all three commission positions will be up for election next May. In order to reinstate a staggered term limit, positions 2 and 3 currently held by interim commissioners Fred Messerle and Cam Parry will be 2 year terms and be voted on again in 2014. Position 1, held by Main is a four year term.
There has been no word as yet if Main will run for re-election.
