Chainsaws are running on the Millicoma Between Sale in spite of legal issues raised by adjacent property owners, activists and forest advocacy organizations like Cascadia Wildlands. The Millicoma Between sale has not been properly advertised and the family intends to sue the Oregon Department of Forestry for violating proper procedure and ignoring the ‘high landslide hazard’ to adjacent property.

In an email yesterday, ODF has said they are looking into the claims of illegal public process. Unfortunately, it appears the ODF will wait until the hills have been clear cut before coming to any conclusions, thereby denying the public their right to comment on this sale.

Again, who is minding the public forests?
