The judge sent the jury home today while defense conferred with their client about whether he should testify on the stand. My understanding is that he will present a written statement in his defense but will not take the stand and be subject to cross examination.
After watching Frasier in action for the first time, I would hasten to say he is very competent. Further, I think it highly unlikely this case was brought about for political purposes. The costs of this case and the risks of losing it belay that type of motivation and I think it is a disservice to all the hard work put in by the investigators and the prosecution to suggest this case has any other purpose than providing justice for Leah Freeman.
