During an administrative work session commissioner Fred Messerle announced his desire to move the BOC offices to the Owen Building because it is just too cramped in the courthouse. After some discussion it was decided that Messerle should investigate how much it will cost to remodel space at the Owen Bldg and how quickly a move can be accomplished.
Other topics included how to structure the advisory committees and whether to hire an assistant for county counselor, Oubonh White.
Sandy Messerle was appointed to head the near shore fisheries advisory committee by Cam Parry.
How could the appointment of Mrs. Messerle be connected to the LNG project?
Lets see, there will be no objections from the airport, no objections from the port, no objections from the BOC, no objections from the near shore fisheries advisory committee. What else could there be that they need to block as a source of complaint? Maybe just us.
This advisory committee thing IS getting out of hand. Again, why not hold public hearings? If you really want public involvement that is the way to get it.

What in the hell is happening here folks while too many of us – me included – are silent? This is sad. Democrats, not Republicans are accused of taxing and spending the peoples money! These friends of Main recently annointed county commissioners are unreal. Two of my life long, proud but relatively poor, neighbors are losing their homes to forclosure and in need of help and Messerle’s priority is a larger office to satisfy his ego? Freddie Boy, too cramped? In huge Silicon Valley companies, a place where I spent 20 years, CEO’s whose net worth are billions are in cubicles that are smaller than your current office by choice and loving it. Why are you spending so much time in the office? Why are you not managing the county by being among the people or in Salem or DC locating sources of monies? Do we really want to have as our representative the fellow who sits in the office and waits for the flies to land in our soup before killing them or the fellow who walks around and kills the flies before they annoy us? Now more nepotism! More committees. More outcome known before they form the committee. And, when were we told that O Bone has been annointed to be the new county counsel? Why not hire a real lawyer who has been around the block a few times and make O Bone the follower? The people who announce that they will oppose Main in 2012 each get a generous dollar donation.
This is consistent with the tales I have heard about Messerle. Everything is about making him more comfortable. Consultants, new offices, advisory groups made up of cronies. I suppose Main and Parry had little objection despite the budget scrambles to paying for a remodel
