When my oldest son, a Marine, left for war and crossed the border from Kuwait into Iraq in March 2003 I started writing my conscience. After two tours that young combat veteran’s mother is now an ardent peace activist and advocate for social, environmental and economic justice.
MGx has matured since those early vents and ramblings and now covers relevant and important local and regional matters in addition to national and global affairs.
How about a wager? A wager that I hope to lose. One dollar. By the time there is a winner the dollar will be worth 72 cents. The winner is a female. And, that is proper. My uneducated rationale. Cribbins, representing a sovereign nation, a nation that occasionally has conflict with the county, but an attorney that certainly could lead the present county counsel, is wrong for the job. Ask any big time CEO and they will tell you that the worst person to lead an organization is a lawyer. They get lost in the minutia. Anything and everything is a potential argument. Even if she resigns from the tribal position, there will always be potential conflict. Guensey is unprepared for an executive and leadership position. She lacks the diversified background that can lead the citizens to prosperity. She has not been involved in controversial matters of the county and the people. McCaffree is a lightning rod. But she has demonstrated knowlegde of most subjects county. She is untiring. She is like the Everready bunny and is always going top speed. She will give us 200%. She knows the people of the county. She has the contacts in local, state, and federal government. She is not afraid to ask citizens for help. She is the token activist in the group. Winner – and I do need the dollar – Cribbins.
