The World is reporting that ORC will begin strip mining at the Seven Devils Mine site soon and have hired “41 production and six administrative employees”. With the imminent closing Albertson’s releasing 46 workers to the unemployment lines the county has a slight net gain in jobs. Unlike Albertson’s which had operated in the area for many years, ORC has received a five year taxpayer subsidy in the form of enterprise zone property tax exemptions to pay for those jobs.
