The seven member selection committee each received a packet with the thirty three applications for commissioner. The committee is governed by Oregon’s public meetings law and may not form a quorum or engage in vote counting, even by phone.
Monday, each member will mark the names they would like to see move on to the interview process. Dots will be placed on a chart made up with all the applicants and those names with the most dots will be selected.
Questions for the interview process to be held on Wednesday will be determined during an executive session.
My bet is the Chamber will have their say.
I hate betting but of the names you mention I would say Parry and Van Elsberg will make the final round, plus a few more
Any bets? I say this committee, as formed, will select as top five – Benton, Britton, Loiselle, Slater, Van Elsberg. A different committee may select a different group. I say the three finalists are Benton, Slater, Parry. My choice for commissioner – Benton (that should put the kliss of death on his chances). The safe choice – Ross – bad health and all.
