Tired of nothing getting done in the Senate? Well a rule changed endorsed by Senator Jeff Merkley may put the sweat back into filibuster. Minority party filibuster has required little more effort than a senator lodging an objection and then going home to dinner. New rules, if passed, would require any filibuster to more along the lines of ‘Mr Smith Goes to Washington”.
