Timothy Spanberger, a relative unknown, may be the only member of the Coquille City Council that hasn’t outlived Methuselah. Results are in and at 8PM the young council candidate appeared to have edged Robert Jump former stenographer for Coquille City Hall and champion of the much derided former police chief, Mike Reaves.
If results hold it may be an indication that even Jump’s name recognition couldn’t make up for his obvious prejudice against the very citizens he wanted to represent and the police department. In Coquille, at least, it appears voters do remember.
