If there had been any way to postpone this trip, so soon after DC, I would have but alas I am hanging out at PDX until 11AM. Never let someone else book your flights because you may end up having to rise at 3AM to get to North Bend by 4ish just so you can catch a morning flight from PDX 5 hours later. Then you will have to stay in Portland an extra day so that you can catch a morning flight back to North Bend if your Chicago flight does not arrive before 2:30PM. Had I nipped through SFO I might have gotten a couple extra winks before starting the marathon again.
That said, I am excited about spending a few days in Chicago and of course excited about attending my friend’s wedding.
Last year, while in Minneapolis I visited the Mall of America – oh my gosh! Talk about sensory overload. I couldn’t begin to work my way through the whole thing, it was just packed with stores and kiosks and bizarre things. Rampant consumerism

Was this the same committee? The aesthetic beauty is strikingly similar. I bet if they try hard enough they can beat them on a per square foot cost basis. I have confidence in our board.
