Owing to events I will someday publish as a ‘dark comedy’, the newest member of the Coquille Police Department, Officer Webley (sp?), stopped by my home. The officer was very polite and congenial and perhaps even slightly embarassed by the reason for his visit, but the most important thing about his visit was that he told me he was recording the conversation. While I have known for some time that law enforcement record all contact with citizens he was absolutely the first one to have the courtesy to mention it. Very thoughtful of him!
