County Commissioner candidate Rod Taylor is the co-founder of Citizens Restoring Liberty. For Mr. Taylor liberty often means liberty for me but not for thee. Mary Geddry’s recent article about him contains a Police Report Illustrating this hypocrisy.
On April 8, 2021 at 8:08 pm the Bandon Police received a call about a, “SUSPICIOUS SUSPECT” later identified as, ‘RODNEY DAVID TAYLOR”. The police report said, “Call was about Rod yelling at a house with a bull-horn after the people residing there were doxxed for reporting an unsafe business to OSHA.” The officer told him to leave and not return. The people in the house had the right to make a complaint to OSHA but Mr. Taylor’s liberty did not include their rights.
On August 17, 2021 Mr. Taylor was a leader of a group that disrupted a public meeting. The World Newspaper reported, “A regular meeting of the Coos County Board of Commissioners quickly turned chaotic when a crowd of protesters demanding an end to mask mandates filled the board chambers and began yelling threats at the board.”
All the protestors were unmasked. There was at least one immunocompromised person in the room. The protest forced the meeting to adjourn. For Mr. Taylor and his followers that day there was liberty – for the immunocompromised and the public there was none.
Mr. Taylor attended the Stop the Steal protest on January 6, 2021 in Washington D.C. He told the Oregonian it was his third trip to the Capitol in 8 weeks. He said he was in D.C., “for the preservation of the republic” and he was, “gravely concerned” America’s becoming a communist country. He told the Oregonian, “Antifa agitators” were behind the violence that day. The Oregonian said the Antifa claims, “have been widely debunked.” The evening of January 6th D.C. police arrested Mr. Taylor for violating a curfew imposed after the riot.
Other than the curfew violation Mr. Taylor’s conduct January 6th was apparently lawful. However, he was part of the protest that tried to stop a lawfully elected President from taking office. This protest was a direct attack on the Constitution and the right of Americans to choose our leaders.
For Mr. Taylor liberty is a license permitting him to do whatever he wants to do. What America needs now is liberty and justice for all.
Antifa Didn’t Storm the Capitol, Just Ask The Rioters

Then the sowing of doubt spread further: first on Parler and Twitter, then on Reddit, then on Fox News and in the halls of Congress.”
