US consumers spend $68 billion annually on lottery tickets yet education spending is flat because states offset school lottery revenue by awarding tax breaks to corporations.
“$68 billion,” exclaims John Oliver. “That’s more than Americans spent last year on movie tickets, music, porn, the NFL, Major League baseball, and video games combined. Which basically mean Americans spent more on the lottery than they spent on America.”
It will take time, but progressives will prevail, it’s going to approach life and death in our lifetimes, and apparently there’s no one state-wide or nationally with the guts to say “enough”. He or she will step forward, and we will all recognize when it happens. In spite of any D or R, a movement will congeal and we’ll have someone to work for, who will speak to us as FDR did, and be
praised instead of reviled. Dark days require it. Watch and see. What was the name of the white haired gay ex-gov or mayor, from Utah? Help me M. I liked everything I heard him say, got to watch for him again. Just talk to the people, and they will respond, we all know it has to change, and I believe it will. We have to bring the young families into the equation, they lined up all along 101 last year about GMO’s. But the Kock Suckers bought our state election again. You and your corporate masters won’t be heard Mark, even if your side controls what press we have. Rocky, that’s the name of the man who ran last time. Reminder? How to over come the lack of an open free press? That is my biggest hurdle, I can’t see how to overcome that one. Once again, it was a delight to see Mark handed his hat. I’m using decorum here, not what I wanted to say.

Same thing will happen with the marijuana revenue.
Aye, you are likely right. Personally, I am not so sure that a marijuana tax isn’t discriminatory to begin with.
