Bill Lackner, President of the Clam Diggers Association of Oregon that recently made headlines for alerting the state of alleged super fund monitoring violations by the Port of Coos Bay claims a patron of Englund Marine threatened his life. Prior to filing the complaint Englund Marine carried a line of books on clam digging and Lackner stopped in to learn why manager Mark Fleck was now refusing to sell his books. According to Lackner, Fleck was assisting another customer out to his vehicle and then engaged in a long conversation with the customer. When it was over Fleck and the customer returned together at which point the customer sought out Lackner telling him with a “deadly serious expression”, “yer, dead.” The customer, apparently having no other business for returning to the store, quickly left.
Lackner believes Fleck was within hearing of this threat and knows the identity of the customer. He is taking the threat seriously and believes it is motivated by his opposition to the Jordan Cove project. Lackner has reported the threat to Capt Jeff Samuels of the Oregon State Police.
Agreed wassup. Wish there were more like Bill. I’d like to send them a donation as support.
Just two-bit, small-time thugs. My opinion only boys. “Yer dead”, huh boys? But you sneak back to your car like the punk-ass you really are? Big man? I think not, just another little minnow trying to be a big fish in this little pond we call home. Threatening The Mussel Man?
It would be nice if more people had the courage of Mr. Lackner.
