The Coquille School District has been awarded a permit allowing 18 months to construct a low power FM radio station broadcasting at 97.7 at no more than 100 watts. Congratulations are in order, this was a once in a lifetime opportunity for non-profit organizations to obtain FCC licenses and thanks to Superintendent Tim Sweeney and Winter Lakes High School Principal Tony Jones taking the time to dive in and apply Coquille will soon have a community radio station.
