While there are plenty of opportunities to improve the local economy too few people control the dialog and have limited the discussions about Coos County’s future to resource extraction and industrial development. There are alternatives out there but our civic leaders aren’t talking about them. CBWR historian Don Gurney and I will be on The Wes Brown show Sunday to discuss possible alternative funding sources for local government services.
We will be on KBBR 1340 AM Coos Bay, Sundays 1p-2p Streaming Live – Podcasts & Content on TheWesBrownShow You can follow Wes on Twitter @thewesbrownshow

Sunday’s show with Mary and Don will be informative. I am grateful to have them as guests.
Of course there are alternatives as readers of MGX know.
Big business buy local “leaders” who become mouth pieces, and often enlightened or reasonable alternatives are rejected outright.
There are alternatives to fossil fuels, which are suffocating us. It is bad (oceans) and few will admit it. Those who do are called “extremists”. Amazing.
Hope you tune in Sunday.
Looking forward to this show. The one with Jody showed passion for the subject. Mary I remember your spot on Mark Mckelvy’s show. You seemed collared by mark and the subject matter never turned as serious as I would have liked. You go girl, Wes has a tendency to take off the gloves and that will be helpful in setting up a meaningful dialog about what this area has been going through and who’s been doing it.
Thank you for the encouragement. Methinks we will be able to go much more in depth on Wes’ show than on Mark’s.
