The World may have a liberal sense of propriety when it comes to insulting its readers but the paper is steadfast about the 400 word limit for letters-to-the-editor. Some rules are just inviolable… so finally, the paper published a shortened version of Oakland County Commissioner Jim Runestad’s letter scolding an editorial which succeeded in insulting pretty much everyone. To its credit, the best parts of the letter remained but the paper omitted, amongst other things, that the author is a county commissioner.
The paper also reaffirms its original defeatist and false position that federal policy cannot be changed through local efforts with the heading “Michigan makes a ‘roar of futility’”. As we prepare to celebrate our independence from British rule let’s all be thankful The World editors weren’t around during the revolution.
Please leave the world alone! I have to have something to put under my Harley to catch the oil drips!

Mrs. Precourt blogs under the name Stephanie Wislon Precourt. Her blogs are about her love of the mid west, her new home in Bandon, and children’s matters. She writes better than most who are employed as writers at the daily garbage can liner. If you research the Precourts attempting to understand why they took on this impossible assignment, you will find that Mr. Precourt may be ill prepared to run a newspaper and generate life into a dead World paper. But, he and the Mrs. appear to be the best parents on the block – and that comes from a person who was blessed with the parents from hell.
Have a link for the blog?
I won’t give it to you.
Any person who pays to read that garbage can liner deserves to be insulted. Lee should pay us to read their amateurish attempt at a newspaper. The blog of wife of the papers publisher suggests that she could contribute much to the papers success.
