We have the beginnings of a new forum which you can link to from the menu bar above or by clicking here.
Additionally, I am implementing a local wiki site for registered users to collaborate writing information about local people, places, culture and much more. After playing around with different options I decided to use the same engine that wikipedia.org uses and so I am working to integrate that with WordPress so that only one registration is required to edit existing topics or create new ones.
Here is a sample wiki page about the CCAP written using a different engine that I will soon stop using but offered here to give a taste of what might be possible. While drafting this page I realized that writers may be compelled to tell more details about components of any topic. For example, on the CCAP page users may wish to create specific pages for each founding member or create individual pages about the measures or candidates supported by the CCAP. This is how the knowledge base grows and possibly offers an opportunity to learn to work together.
Anyone who registers with the site may contribute or edit details of any wiki article just as with wikipedia which offers the opportunity to collaborate with other interested parties or even with the subject of the article. All edits are tracked and detailed for other users and readers to follow. Wiki pages I am interested in developing are on the Coos Bay Wagon Road, the O&C lands, enterprise zones, Jordan Cove, ORC and the Port of Coos Bay
