Twenty volunteers and at least three staff are working, precinct by precinct, to determine the final winner in the position one commissioner race between Bob Main and Fred Messderle. Messerle is down by twelve votes but according to Teri Turri, because the ballots are so well inspected prior to the election and being put through the machine count, she does not expect the total to change by more than one or possible two votes in either direction.
Turri hopes to have the recount completed by Friday and if her expectations are correct, we will only have to suffer through two more meetings with Messerle and radio talk show personality, Cam Parry.
Speak the truth my old arse. Tell us some more about all that freedom wafting through Tahrir Square Mark, how you joyfully watched all that freedom taking place. What did you call me when I told you who those yearning for freedom really were? Do you remember how you attempted to shame me for falling for it? Remember Mark? You were disastrously wrong about all of it, every piece of it turned out exactly like I told you it would. Once again your Democrats played their hand AGAINST freedom. hillary clinton’s photo was posted around the world in a warm embrace with Morsi, just a grinnin for all the world to see. Less than 12 hours later, he clamped down on the nation, removing every shred of democracy for the people. Same as today the US arming the “rebels” in Syria, Libya, Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, Yemen, and the continent of Africa. Supporting the Muslim Brotherhood in every case, every one, and you still scamper about pretending the Dem. party is somehow more entitled to assassinate their own, remove due process, militarize our police and wage war against half of the world.
What you think means nothing, Mr. Truthiness.
Well, Kay, that is an interesting post. You about as far afield from the topic as one could imagine, and unfortunately, as wrong as wrong can be.
Is this what you really want to talk about?
susanP,
Relax. I’ve attended meetings with Ms. Cribbins. Rest assured, she’s a pretty smart lady; she can find the bathroom without much guidance.
Ms. Cribbins has been very thoughtful about the administrator question. She favors it under some circumstances, but not all. She has a “wait and see” posture on her candidacy in 2014. In no way has she acceded to working for less than minimum wage.
Ms. Cribbins has also elaborated at length about her policy positions and the course she will pursue in office. You were either not listening or not paying attention. Don’t fret. It’s not too late to catch up. You can listen to her ideas at PEG Central or on podcasts from my radio show. It’s very clear that Ms. Cribbins knows what a commissioner does.
You imply Ms. Cribbins is unqualified. I disagree. I think Don Gurney would disagree as well. A JD degree is a rare and valuable asset for a county commissioner. We are fortunate to have one on our board. Actual qualifications for commissioner are few. Perhaps you can list the qualifications you value in a commissioner. Then you can explain how your commissioner of choice meets them while Ms. Cribbins does not. That will be an interesting discussion.
All that said, I do not mean to put Ms. Cribbins above criticism. Far from it. She has positioned herself in the middle of the cauldron. She will need to respond to criticism from all quarters. Game On! But let’s make that criticism meaningful — not about where she should park her car.
Your constipations smack of sour grapes.
All this sounds like,
is that the walrus is thirsty….
Few, very few, believe in you mark.
I’m not here to start a new religion, Linski.
I do want to speak the truth, though.
Few, very few, argue the facts I present.
Sorry Mr. Mark, my brain must be constipated today. Isn’t Cribbins one of the candidates who, just days ago, were prepared to work for less than minimum wage? Why should resigning before January 1 and attending a meeting or two so she can hit the ground running cause her a financial problem? She will still have the income from her potato vodka distillery.
And, Mr. Mark, now that she survived the election without revealing any plan for her or our future, maybe she can tell us something that will show what we can expect during the next two years until she also is gone and a qualified female is elected.
Sincerely
Mr. mark.
No cold Mark. I want her to show an interest in becoming a commissioner. Don’t you? I want her to attend at least one meeting before she takes her seat. She does not have to attend the entire meeting. Has any person ever seen her in that court house during a meeting? She needs to find the best toilet; the drinking fountain; her parking place before, not durimng, her first meeting. And, while there she can visit with Ms. MGX across the street and learn what a commissioner is supposed to do while sitting there.
Sincerely,
Susan
I, for one, will forever miss Scams snake-oil salesmanship, the cowboy boots and spinner(They wear that stuff in San Francisco?). And the fact that everything from high tide to Michael Jackson has either been “exciting” “wonderful” or should be “commended”. What tripe. Goodbye and good riddance.
You will be at the going away party then!
She doesn’t actually start her new job until January. You want her to go sans paycheck during Christmas? Whoa. That’s cold. Especially for someone who doesn’t favor volunteer commissioners.
Well, at least you’re giving her a fair chance. (Ha!)
THANK GOD THAT FRICK AND FRACK WILL BE SOON GONE!! But, this will mean that Cribbins must attend a commissioners meeting. According to the tribe, she haS not yet resigned, as promised.
