On the docket for today is a presentation by the governance advisory committee of its final report and the hiring of outside counsel to review ordinance changes regarding solid waste. Also, there may be some fireworks today unrelated to the above items.
Grile has denied wanting the job.
It is up to Bob Main to convince the voters he is different, not MGx. Believe me, I am open to the possibility and would love to be able to support him this fall but right now I think they’re both terrible.
According to his Coos Bay neighbors Grile remains among the dime a dozen waiting to fill that role. Regarding a post elsewhere yesterday, if enough contributors to this site convince voters that there is no difference between Messerle and Main, Messserle will win in a landslide and the Herne’s of the county will never be heard.
The fireworks didn’t happen, unfortunately, unless you call how Fred cut Ronnie Herne off during public comment fireworks.
Some interesting comments came out of the governance committee presentation, some of them were really funny. At one point during the power point Grile is singing the praises of having a professional administrator as if they are worth their weight in gold but at the end when someone asked what if they leave after a couple of years, Grile answered, “don’t worry, administrators are a dime a dozen, you will find a replacement.”
When the video is available i will try and post some clips
Me 2. The fireworks part.
Looking forward to a full report!
