There’s much “To Do” in our local media about who is the best candidates for the three Coos County Commissioner races. Having worked for the county 33 years and paying close attention to the issues as a tax payer, I have to put my confidence in Randy Sanne for Position 1. I have known Randy for several years and was always impressed by his openness and dedication to attending Commissioner meetings after putting in a full shift at the Solid Waste facility. While most county employees are hesitant to express their true feelings on fear of losing their jobs, Randy was always up front and never hesitated to openly disagree with decisions made by current and past commissioners. If you want a commissioner who is part of the “Good Ole Boy” politics, then you should vote for Messerle. If you want a long timer whose politics are knee jerk in nature to get re-elected, then you should vote for Main. The others, I’m still undecided. Many have their own agenda for the groups who support them and probably not in the best interest of the county as a whole.

Messerle may be a more familiar name in Coos County than Sanne but this does not translate to respect or votes. Until he became a commissioner I had no idea how despised, and I don’t use the word lightly, the man is. He has definitely burnt some bridges in his day. Regardless, even if Fred were well liked Sanne is doing incredibly well with minimal funds and he has a shot a garnering the 10,000 votes needed to take the race in the primary. If not, I fully expect him to be around for the general election.
Ima, you have stated this opinion about Randy running for the wrong seat several times. It appears you want the readers to vote for Main. What else could you be intending?
If Sanne had run for positions 2 or 3 we would all have voted for him. He decided against it. He will be a spoiler and Messerle should get the majority vote.
