Dear Editor,
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Rob Taylor of Bandon for all he has done for our county and the voters. He has studied the intricacies of Urban Renewal and has generouly shared his knowledge with your readers, and with the folks in Bandon. He has made numerous appearances at the meetings of Americans for Prosperity where he has explained in simple language what Urban Renewal really is and why it’s not a good idea.
Rob Taylor personally arranged for the local guest appearance of noted author and Senior Fellow at the Cato Institute, Randal O’toole, who discussed Urban Renewal and Crony Capitalism, addressing the problematic favoritism built into the system.
Rob Taylor has led the persistent battle with the Board of Commissioners, asking them to postpone or “table” a vote on the bandon $6,000,000 Urban Renewal increase in indebtedness. Unfortunately, they ignored him and his large group of citizens, which will now cost the county General Fund a sizeable $30,000 per year in lost taxes. He is currently carrying petitions to put the Bandon Urban Renewal District up to a vote of the Bandon people, which is as it should be.
He has given tirelessly of his own personal time in this and other causes, including opposition to the Bandon Marsh expansion. So, thanks Rob! Job well done!

Perhaps Jaye could answer the same question.
Jaye?
I am not an Obama fan, that being said, this is from P. Hoekstra, working hard to beat a female opponant in Michigan. THIS Tressa, is who the Koch brothers are. These are those “burdens to small business” AFP is fighting so hard.
Just as an aside, do you believe what this Republican running for office on the AFP agenda just said yesterday? If you and Rob and the other AFP supporters truly believe women have no right to equal pay, how can you tell us you guys are fighting for “all of us”?
“Obama signed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act into law in 2009 and considers it one of the key achievements of his presidency. The law — which was heavily opposed by Republicans — provides women with more legal channels through which to pursue equal pay for equal work. Hoekstra, at the time a congressman, voted against the measure when it came up in the House of Representatives, believing that federal legislation was not needed and it would burden small businesses during the economic recession. ”
Thank you.
Tressa? Are you aware who funds AFP? And why?
The AFP Chapter of Coos County are the finest, hard working people, who are for the rights of all Americans. You are always welcome to come to the meetings and ask questions.
Rob is a beacon of light for Coos County. I thank Jaye Bell for her letter of acknowledgement of Rob’s time and help to understand about how Urban Renewal works. If you haven’t notice there are bonds needed for the schools maybe we could have used urban renewal money for that instead of a tax break for a developer and a cheese factory.
I am proud to call Jaye and Rob both my friends they both work hard to help this county.
Something just too darn theatrical with the guy, always “on”.
On what? It’s Coos County.
I’m told he’s the front man for Americans For Prosperity, that makes him a Koch Sucker. My apologies in advance to him if I am wrong.
Even if I’m wrong about that, which I don’t think I am, there’s just something too manic or forced about him. I have to agree with aghast.
I’m skeptical of any person jumping into politics with the stated intention of dismantling our political system. Kind of counter intuitive isn’t it?
Taylor is weird and over the top
My opinion of Mr. Taylor is very poor – is this a sarcastic piece or am I missing something?
Having worked with Rob Taylor for the last 3 years on various political issues, I can attest to the fact that everything Jaye Bell states about Rob is true. Rob is a tireless defender of our personal liberties. He is fearless. He is the living embodiment of the motto to “speak truth to power.” Thank you Jaye for giving Rob this worthy praise.
