Excellent article re: the Southern Coos Hospital’s attempt to conduct an illegal closed-door meeting. Using the spirit and letter of Oregon’s open-meetings law, you were able to provide the public with information they were fully entitled to, but which the hospital board attempted to conceal.

It would be of tremendous value to our community if you were to scrupulously and consistently apply this same protocol to meetings conducted by the Coos County Board of Commissioners and by the Port of Coos Bay. The quality, depth, and comprehensiveness of public discourse as well as public agency decision-making in our area would greatly benefit from such an action on your part.
