Amongst the witnesses today were the best friends of both Leah Freeman and her alleged killer, Nick McGuffin. Sherrie Mitchell testified about the last night she saw Leah alive. Her testimony is consistent with what the public learned if the watched the 20/20 program about the Freeman murder.
Prosecution also called Brent Bartley the best friend of Nick McGuffin at the time Leah went missing, as well as other friends and a one night stand.
In all, the pace this morning was quite steady with the court finishing with a total of eight witnesses. Court reconvenes at 1 PM although I will not be able to attend the entire afternoon session, I will write a more in depth report later this afternoon but so far the prosecution case still seems to revolve around laying a foundation. As yet there have been no significant revelations.
Bartley and McGuffin were not together the entire evening as Nick was out at the Johnson Mill Pond smoking pot with friends roughly between 8 and 9 PM. It will be unlikely that any lie detector stuff will brought up and no such questions were asked of Bartley today.
The exact cause of death has apparently never been determined but blunt force trauma was ruled out, I believe.
In your in depth report, will you address Brent Bartley who is alleged to have been with Mr. McGuffin the entire evening and who is alleged to have failed a lie detector test. Has there been any discussion of the possibility of Ms. Freeman being hit by an automobile?
