Commissioner Parry made a motion to choose ‘option H’ no reserves, no changes… Main seconded the motion, Whitty was absent.
After public comment (more later) the board agreed to pass Parry’s motion. Considering Parry has talked a lot about using the science to make industry work better, so I was a bit surprised that he was not interested in additional science. Parry did explain that he felt the fishery on the Oregon coast was already healthy and the reserve would adversely affect local fisherman too much. Will try to elaborate later.
So Cam thinks the ocean is healthy…. What world has he been living in ? Certainly not in the real world.
I loved what the article called Coos County: “The Missing Link.”
Can’t agree more.
I agree Fred, it’s ALWAYS about economics. And ” politically wise” decisions have not always worked out well.
We who live in the Charleston area – as he does – understand where he is coming from. It’s a matter of economics. And, a wise political first move on his part.
