This is what war really is. The footage captured by freelance cameraman Vaughan Smith, who spent two weeks embedded with the paramedics of the US Army’s 214th Aviation Regiment in Afghanistan, reveal just a taste of the hell we have sent our kids into.
The film also documents the intense skill and caring and heroic efforts of the medical personnel to save lives in the midst of death and destruction. My own Marine son witnessed many heroic efforts in Iraq of ‘docs’ running through open fire to save the lives of his fellow Marines. These few minutes of video are worth watching just to see what we have subjected our kids to.
